ERTUGRUL - HAGIA SOFIA - HISTORICAL FACTS

2023, the year when the treaty of Lausanne is going to expire after 100 years. The treaty signed on July 24, 1923, is a document whose conditions humiliate the state of Turkey after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire.  Under the treaty, Turkey was restrained from any drilling and could not charge for ships crossing the strait of Bosphorus.

As 2023 get closer anxiety is increasing in the region and among those who considered themselves triumphant at the time. Turkey has started asserting itself in the region and tensions between Greece and France are rising in the Mediterranean and black sea. This July 24, PM of Turkey asserting nations sovereignty turn Hagia Sofia from Museum to Mosque again. I thought a little history be added in the attached article to increase awareness among Muslim youth.

Pakistan International Airlines, once the queen of the South Asian skies as well as the catalyst in establishing numerous airlines around the globe such as Emirates has been the victim of corruption and inept leadership and incompetent management with the able and willing but unmotivated workforce.

The government rightfully has taken PIA off of the privatization list as it is not feasible at the present time. WATER IS THE SOURCE OF ALL LIFE

Today the water resources are considered geo-strategic issues. For Pakistan, it is a matter of life or death. According to the United Nations Pakistan is considered as water scare country. In the coming years, Pakistan may become dependent upon India controlling the water from the disputed area of Kashmir. The longest river in the world, Indus with its five tributaries plays a significant role in the water conflict between Pakistan and India. In fact, Kashmir has become the nuclear flashpoint for the region. To diffuse the situation both countries must come to terms and resolve the issue of the disputed area of Kashmir.
Recognizing the water scarcity in Pakistan, Pakistanis have decided to build a dam without any foreign help or world bank. Therefore an account has been established by the Chief Justice of Pakistan in collaboration with the PM of Pakistan for the purpose of building a dam. Accountability & Transparency

South Asia these days is buzzing with election activity. Both Pakistan and India are struggling with transparency in the upcoming election contests. Every election in the region is marred with corruption and fraud. The intensity and rhetoric for honesty and integrity are high but practice amounts to zero.
Last week election commission of Pakistan accepted nominations papers from people required in fraud and murder cases, from candidates with the huge amount of wealth with no apparent source of income and money trail.
When a common man confronts candidates regarding their performance in the past and holds them responsible and accountable for the present misery of people, these candidates - men and women of influence with wealth and authority frowned upon them. The words accountability and transparency are strongly detested by these people. Therefore it might be beneficial for the common person to have a simple tutorial on the definition of accountability so they can ask relevant questions and practice themselves as well. read more............

While finishing this article, events in the region started to unfold with unrest in Iran, Saudis call for PMLN leaders and finally the first tweet of 2018 from President Donald Trump. While reading this article keep these events in mind and my analysis. As the unrest in the region flares up, it is a high possibility of terrorism in the region for which Pakistan may get the blame. With that excuse, US special operations group with the help of India may try to descend on Pakistan nuclear weapons. The objective is to derail CPEC and de-nuclearize Pakistan. Why Pakistan?

A question asked often by Pakistani youth influenced by secular social media. A question often raised by Pakistani liberals and candle holding NGO's. NGO's who portray Pakistan as the land of uneducated masses requiring their version of education. In absence of a national education policy because of the 18th amendment, education is now the responsibility of each province.  Lacking good governance and corruption s, education has been ignored in all province during last 20 years. Such ignorance and indifference to education have resulted in Psy-Ops targetting the ideology of Pakistan via educational NGO's mostly funded by foreign governments specifically India through soft media. 

Following article is an effort to shed light on reasons and rationale that made the creation of Pakistan necessary. Today numerous theories and reasons are being promoted for the creation of Pakistan but none that aligned with facts and circumstances at the time. Narrative of this article is mainly influenced by the interview with Professor Mirza Mohammad Munawar. The first part of the article dealt with the facts at the time and second part shall move forward to explain current psychological war being raged against Pakistani youth.

Injustices of any kind, how minor result in struggles with names subject to perception. War on terrorism is also the result of injustices committed on 9/11. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal - Philosopher ahead of his time

Today is 9^th of November, 2014. Most of us may have forgotten the importance of this day when exactly 137 years ago Iqbal was born in Sailkot, Pakistan.  Today is the 138^th birthday of Iqbal.  At the time of this birth who would have known that this child born today shall influence the world, specifically Muslims and his message and thoughts would become the basis for home to Muslims in sub-continent.  This article was written two years ago for the philosophy class during my doctoral program. 

        On this day remembering Dr. Iqbal, I dedicated this essay to Positive Pakistan Foundation, Islamabad an organization dedicated to the ideology of Pakistan and Iqbals ‘two nation theory’.  All positivists’: Congratulations on organizing 12^th Young Leaders Summit.

           Among thinkers, philosophers and poets that sub-continent is credited for, Iqbal can be considered as the prime jewel of all. Among the people subjugated by the colonial rulers in sub-continents, Muslims were at the lowest totem pole. Mentally depressed and lacking any will, Muslims were the downtrodden, not just in sub-continent but around the world after the fall of Ottoman Empire. During such times, Iqbal redress the religion of Islam, deconstruct the prevailing phenomenon and re-construct the identity of Muslims. In doing so he made every effort to alleviate the threat that Muslims feel from the modern education and advancement in science and technology by the West. Iqbal is a philosopher and thinker much ahead of his time, even the current times. His logical interpretation of Quran’s concept of time and space was finally affirmed by Einstein in his theory of relativity. Iqbal interpreted Quran and teachings of Islam in light of logic, and wanted to integrate these teachings with the advancements of science and technology as he believed that the only way to move forward and counter the change is to move with it but keeping his faith intact.
